Since 1977, Japa has been manufacturing efficient and powerful firewood processors in Finland. In mid-2025, Japa signed the contract with us to setup Wolfe Ridge as the sole USA importer and distributor of Japa Firewood Processors and accessories. The Japa 405 with Perfect Split can process up to 16 inch diameter, and split up to 20.5 inch lengths. Easy to use with electric over hydraulic joystick control of infeed / cut / split functions, patented Perfect Split and Perfect Clean systems, and much more. This machine is offered in three power source configurations: PTO powered (any tractor with a 540 RPM PTO shaft and more than 40 horsepower), 480 volt 3 phase electric, or the Kubota D902 25HP diesel engine package.
The Japa 405 is extremely easy to operate with one hand joystick control of infeed / sawing / splitting functions. Push the joystick up and to the left to infeed the log, pull the bottom electric trigger and down on the joystick to cut, pull the top trigger on the joystick to engage the split cycle – which then cycles forward and back automatically. With included Perfect Split technology in the 405, the machine will continue to re-split automatically until the split chamber is empty. Optional hydraulic log racks are available for this machine – we recommend the 471 2 chain rack for best optimal performance. A 4.2M / 13.8′ powered outfeed conveyor is standard with this machine.
